French EPR for tyres

Updated 15 October 2026 · by Bachir Djebaili, founder of REP·Pro

Direct answer: The French tyres scheme covers tyres placed on the French market, new or retreaded, sold alone or fitted on vehicles, for cars, trucks, two-wheelers, agricultural and industrial machines. Three eco-organisations are approved: Aliapur, Tyval and France Recyclage Pneumatique. The producer is the one who first places the tyre on the French market; a producer established abroad can appoint an authorised representative established in France. One unique identifier for the scheme.

What falls in this category

New and retreaded tyres placed on the French market, sold separately or fitted on new vehicles: passenger car, van, truck, motorcycle and scooter, agricultural, construction and industrial tyres. The declaration is in units per category and per period.

Who the texts call the producer

The person who manufactures in France, imports or sells at a distance from abroad tyres to French buyers, including fitted on vehicles it places on the market. A tyre distributor established abroad shipping to French customers is in that position; it may appoint an authorised representative established in France. The determination is yours, from the texts.

The eco-organisations

Three eco-organisations are approved by the French state for tyres: Aliapur, Tyval and France Recyclage Pneumatique. The producer joins one; the contribution follows its published scale per tyre category.

What MyEPR does for this category

Under the mandate, REP·Pro, established in France, joins the eco-organisation you choose for this category, obtains your unique identifier, files the declarations from the volumes you provide and remains your contact in France. The eco-contributions are invoiced by the eco-organisation at its published rates and re-invoiced to you at cost; the plan price is the only fee. One category is the Starter plan (€29 a month or €249 a year, 12-month plan); with other categories it counts towards Pro or Complete. Pricing · Mandate · How it works.

This page describes the French texts and the service. It is you who determine whether your products fall under this category and whether your company is the producer: the criteria are those of the texts, and the eco-organisations publish their own guides. MyEPR registers you for the categories you tick; it does not decide them for you.

FAQ

Tyres on a vehicle I sell: declared here or under vehicles?

Both: the vehicle falls under the vehicles scheme and its tyres are counted in the tyres scheme. The eco-organisations' guides describe the counting of fitted tyres.

Bicycle and e-scooter tyres?

The scheme covers tyres of the categories listed in the French texts, including those of two-wheelers; the eco-organisation's nomenclature says which small tyres are counted. You determine from your product lines.

How is the contribution calculated?

Per tyre by category according to the eco-organisation's published scale. The representative declares the units you provide.
